Resumo: | Throughout history, the projection of cities has given a false notion that they are designed for a neutral and universal subject. Therefore, very little attention has been given to the relationship between women's experiences and the public space of the city, the aim of this dissertation being to understand this relationship. Thus, through the analysis of national and international literature, the look of feminist architecture and urbanism collectives, associations and workshops, focusing on the work Urbanismo Feminista (2019) by the collective Punt6, the voice of four participants, three architects and a psychologist, and from a case study, the Plaza Baró project, we analyzed the experiences of women in the city and the participatory processes from a feminist perspective. Centering the discourse on life and care, starting from an anti-capitalist feminist and ecofeminist perspective, we find that public spaces still neglect the security of women and girls. It was also found that many steps have been taken by architects and urban planners towards feminist urbanism, but very little expressive in Portugal. It should also be noted that the participatory nature of projects as analyzed here in the case study, makes them time-consuming, appealing, leading to greater official support from the states for their implementation. It is concluded that there is still much to be done so that cities, public spaces are a safe base from which women and girls can explore and experience all their possibilities. It is hoped that the reflections can also serve as a starting point for a new look at cities and security should continue to be on the horizon and in the interest of the future and future professionals of architecture. |
