Pedagogies of Sexuality for Gay Men: Tutorials, Confessions and Confidences in the Project Sem Capa

Sem Capa is an audiovisual project whose development highlights homosexuality and sexual relations between men, focusing on “uncomplicating sex” in 24 episodes, published in the profile of one of its creators, Sa João, on the Xvideos platform. In this paper, it is aimed to understand, through different interactions between viewers and creators, how the union of information about sexual relations and the showing of nudity and sex are established in pedagogizing approaches in Sem Capa. The methodological design inspired by the indiciary perspective makes it possible to tension the conceptual repertoire, the videos, and problematization. We identify the complicity from confidences and the tutorials with practical instructions chained to the narrative of uncomplication that operate ways of teaching, together and rearticulating themselves to the episodes. We conclude that Sem Capa aims to resist the power relations established in heterocentric society, but the narrative didactically invests viewers with other norms, that is, it wants to break with heteronormativity, but it updates norms, as well as adding others in order to be a gay man who fits in with what is best for experiencing sexuality and seeking better quality.
