Desenho e Palavra - notas sobre a sua relação

Resumo: | Drawing and Word are constituents, in a way or another, of the general human activity. Drawing and Word are detachable by which is irreducible in them: what can be spoken; what can not be touched. Both are depositaries of operative resources and symbolic values that imply a translation, on one hand, in a service that we judge exhaustible; on the other hand, in an irrevocable condition: the one of man as subject of language. Drawing and Word connect us with which most keeps us apart, the subjectivity; and also with which most bring us closer, the idea of objectivity. It is under this condition and under this privilege that the human game find means and matter to repeat itself, to update itself. The relationship that drawing and word establish with each other outlines, in the drawer perspective and when submitted to observation, the operative, reflexive, expressive and communicative possibilities allowed in the artistic production context, those of drawing understood as an experimental practice. In this sense and at a first level, the work here presented observes the mentioned relation by obeying essentially to three critical ideas: the emergence of alphabet, where drawing assists the writings that preceded it; the Modern Drawing, in which both alphabetization and nomination assumed a relevant role; and the artistic practice, focused on inter-semiotic practices and on the intricate contemporary relationship with language. At a second level, informed by the first one, an exercise takes place, an exercise where potentialities of the relationship between drawing and word are revealed by the means of a process that takes them as both mean and matter of work. |
