Resumo: Research located in the field of higher education in developing the Program of Research and Graduate Education at PUC Goiás, in State Line of Research, Policy and Educational Institutions. Referring to the establishment of the National Higher Education Evaluation (SINAES) in 2004, we assessed the meanings unveiled by analysis of the self-assessment reports in the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) and the Institutional Educational Project (IPP). Therefore, we make an investigation of a qualitative nature, the case study, aiming specifically examine the following aspects: Studying the designs and implementation processes of the Institutional Self- Evaluation at the University of Goiás; Identify the advances and difficulties; analyze processes and the meanings attributed to self-assessment and compare the results of the analysis of the self-assessment reports with the propositions of the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) and the Institutional Educational Project (IPP). This universe is not likely to be captured and verified only with quantifiable data is the field study. Through research, we intend to penetrate the intentions and motives, from which actions and relationships acquire meaning. The use of a qualitative approach in this research on institutional evaluation is essential since it demands a fundamentally interpretive study of reality observed and described in the plans and projects of the institution.

Se evaluaron los significados revelados por el análisis de los informes de autoevaluación en la planificación institucional de la Universidad del Estado de Goiás, el Plan de Desarrollo Institucional (PDI) y el Proyecto Educativo Institucional (IPP). Por lo tanto, hacemos una investigación de naturaleza cualitativa, el estudio de caso, con el objetivo examinar específicamente los siguientes aspectos: el estudio de los diseños y procesos de implementación de la Autoevaluación Institucional de la Universidad de Goiás, identificar los avances y dificultades en la realización de autoevaluación, analizar los procesos y significados atribuidos a la auto-evaluación y comparación de los resultados del análisis de los informes de autoevaluación con las propuestas del plan de Desarrollo Institucional (PDI) y el Proyecto Educativo Institucional (IPP). Para este estudio, los informes de investigación documental con el análisis de la autoevaluación de la institución entre 2004 y 2010 el Plan de Desarrollo Institucional y el Plan Institucional para la Educación, la metodología se utilizó para la construcción de los datos.Pesquisa situada no campo da educação superior, em desenvolvimento no Programa de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Educação da PUC Goiás, na Linha de Pesquisa de Estado, Políticas e Instituições Educacionais. Tendo como referência a instituição do Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior (SINAES) em 2004, busca-se avaliar os significados desvelados pela análise dos relatórios de autoavaliação no Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional (PDI) e no Projeto Pedagógico Institucional (PPI). Para tanto, realiza-se uma investigação de cunho qualitativo, do tipo estudo de caso, objetivando analisar especificamente os seguintes aspectos: Estudar os projetos e processos de implementação da Autoavaliação Institucional na Universidade Estadual de Goiás; Identificar os avanços e as dificuldades; analisar os processos e os sentidos atribuídos à autoavaliação e comparar os resultados das análises dos relatórios da autoavaliação com as proposituras do Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional (PDI) e o Projeto Pedagógico Institucional (PPI). Esse universo não passível de ser captado e verificado somente com dados quantificáveis é o campo deste estudo. Por meio da pesquisa, pretende-se penetrar nas intenções e motivos, a partir dos quais ações e relações adquirem sentido.
