Resumo: | This study’s central issue is “Are there innovative practices for operating and managing products and services offered in Brazil’s lodging facilities?” with the main goal of understanding the actions that guide the offering of services in Brazil. Three propositions were considered: (P1) Hospitality courses prepare the future professional for traditional lodging facilities; (P2) The country’s proposed classification does not leave room for new business models; (P3) There is rarely room for stakeholders such as the local community, distribution channels, or support (or pressure) groups in traditional hotel management. To use “Innovative Practices for Operating and Managing Lodging Facilities” as an example, the case study was done on Bourbon Hotels & Resorts, a national business founded in 1960 that is going through a process of change in management and professionalization. |

To use “Innovative Practices for Operating and Managing Lodging Facilities” as an example, the case study was done on Bourbon Hotels & Resorts, a national business founded in 1960 that is going through a process of change in management and professionalization.O presente estudo teve como questão central “Há práticas inovadoras de operação e gestão de produtos e serviços oferecidos nos meios de hospedagem do Brasil?”, com o objetivo geral de compreender as ações que norteiam a oferta de serviços no Brasil.
