Resumo: | From notions such as soft violence, punishment and destruction, it’s proposed to think about violence by setting up its own aesthetic, which softens and rounds its destructive vertices. The line, sometimes almost indistinguishable, which separates the act of creating and destroying is in great power a transforming line, which outlines the more subtle daily events and reveals the banality with which we live and face violent behaviours, crisis and conflict – applied constantly to us through the media, the policy measures, the lack of a prognosis for the future and even the common places such as trauma, anxiety or low self esteem. However, about these cruel and (self) destructive acts there is something that draws and captures us as spectators, bindings us to a screen and makings us into witnesses. There’s something seductive about the language of violence and the suffering body, or object, which (self) dismantles, and that will be one of the premises of this essay. When trying to aestheticize and bring into discussion objects and actions that, explicitly or implicitly, speak about punitive experiences, I intend to expose a universethat is intimate and private to me and that distorts the meaning of violence. The new forms of violence are generated and inside them inhabit the "acessório-ação", the videographic language and other formal features that culminate in a manifest, in which it is established the concept of soft violence and a visual violence is promoted. Symbolic punishment, applied on (my) body and on the objects that I produce, crosses self-injuring, enters through the intricacies of destruction art and flows into the objective violence by Žižek. It’s important how to present this universe and, therefore, this investigation also worries about its aesthetical qualities, beyond conceptual. Through the beautification of the situations of violent conduct, I misrepresent their meanings and show the pervasiveness of soft violence |
