Resumo: As part of the HoTT: Housing Think Tank: Knowledge Integration on Multi- Family Residential Buildings, this master's thesis develops a critical analysis of Intergenerational Housing. Global demographic changes, urban transformations, and the evolution of housing practices have pulled Intergenerational as an important concept of several practices and debates within different knowledges. For this reason, we have designed a qualitative methodological approach which, through a literature review and case study research, aims to identify the principles of the context, process and design of intergenerational spaces. Thus, in the first volume of this dissertation, we propose a theoretical framework that frames, in the field of architecture, the definition, origin, evolution and practice of intergeracional architecture. After explaining the problematic, we analyze and interpret a sample of the experiences gathered during the research. Based on the collection, compilation, and interpretation of the data, we identify the contributions of good practice in this model of architectural intervention. In the second volume, we present the Inventory, with all 155 case studies collected and analyzed as part of this dissertation. This resource, due to its significance and size, made it possible to create a corpus of different architectural solutions that encourage interaction between different generations. As a practical exercise in understanding the theoretical principles identified, the final drawings of the proposal for the international competition Portugal Eldery Home: Senior living can also be consulted. In short, we are trying to find out whether collective housing, through intergenerational dialog, can keep up with the new contemporary challenges and contribute to a better life?
