We started from the analysis of the image and how this image kept being transformed by the use of digital media, namely by inhabiting cyberspace. The main objective of the dissertation is to understand how the digital image has modified the viewer’s vision of the other's body, as well as his own. The dissertation consists of three chapters. In the first one, we describe the screen as an interface, which is labelled as the image holder and, at the same time, a boundary between two distinct realities, the real and the virtual. In the second chapter, we explain how the individual’s body is presented to us as an image, abandoning the material world to become a virtual representation and giving rise to the techno-body. In that same chapter, we also reflect on how the individual gazes at the image, highlighting two ways of gazing, the direct gaze and the manufactured gaze, reflecting on the device as a performative spectacle, performed by the observer. Finally, the third chapter discusses the artistic project, consisting of a set of photographic and videographic images, and is divided into three parts.
