Resumo: The article presents some of the archaeological evidence thought to be related to plant and animal husbandry in the 2nd millennium BC in northern Portugal and to the different forms of land settlement practised by human communities during this period. We have used archaeological data relating to settlements, ritual, artefacts and ecofacts found in the river basins of the Ave, Cávado, Neiva and Lima, areas studied in the interdisciplinary research project "The Entre-Douro-e-Minho Landscape from the middle of the III millennium to the end of the II millennium BC".
