With the increasing of population mobility, there is a need to focus attention on the prevention of health problems related to travellers. The traveller’s medical consultation and availability of up to date information on all regions of the world is an essential part of this type of prevention. Due to the importance of Traveller’s Medicine, a roundtable was organized at the 5th National Congress of Tropical Medicine, with the objective of knowing the organization of health services for travellers in some countries - Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde and the United Kingdom. Although there are differences, all countries have a common need to improve the organization, regulation, and quality of traveller’ care and advice. There are countries where the difficulty or impossibility of access to drugs in the national territory (for example, malaria chemoprophylaxis, vaccines such as Japanese encephalitis) makes it impossible, in practice, to use them in a timely manner. The difficulties identified, especially those related to the availability of up-to-date information to health professionals and citizens, could be solved by strengthening or developing national and international partnerships.
