Resumo: This dissertation aims to analyse a house in the historic centre of Guimarães, based on the theme of building rehabilitation. Through this project we also studied at the relationship between the past and the present, raising questions about the constraints underlying historic patrimony interventions. This theoretical investigation and analysis are complementary to the creative process, as this the casa study motivates the reflection about intervention problems in the heritage. Thus, it is imperative to highlight the importance of the rehabilitation and the conservation of memory, through the adaptation of a historic building to the contemporany necessities, while emphasising its architectonic value.
