Resumo: A brief definition of three social psychology concepts – attitudes, social representations and schemata – is presented. These three concepts, as well as the three research traditions to which they belong, are then compared according to some reflexive axis – ontological and epistemological standing, images of Men they evoque, methodological options. The reflection developed around these axis allows the discussion that may be found among the three concepts, and aims to contribute to a tentative mapping of the discipline of social psychology.

De seguida comparam-se estes três conceitos entre si, o que implica igualmente comparar as três tradições de pesquisa que os englobam. Para esta reflexão comparativa são estabelecidos alguns eixos organizadores – posicionamento ontológico e epistemológico, imagens da pessoa que transmitem, opções metodológicas.
