The main theme of this Master's thesis is the holiday's house of Corujeira by the architects Arménio Losa and Cassiano Barbosa. Through this theme I intend to contribute to the disclosure and the rigorous documentation of the architects' work and, simultaneously, complete my academic training in order to responde to the problem of modern heritage rehabilitation, adapting it to current requirements. First, it was necessary to contextualize the work in time and understand the influence that other national and internacional architectures had in its conception. Based on visits to the city's archives and to the FAUP's Documentation Center, we tried to understand the house and its evolution through time. The second half of this thesis is directly related to intrinsic themes of rehabilitation. We procede to the analysis of theories, documents, legislaion and some references of rehabilitated buildings, aiming to clarify the bases for an intervention strategy. Finally, based on our research ando n interviews to entities, to Mrs. Vieira Pinto, daughter of the first owner, and to Mr. Almeida Santos, current owner of the house, we set off for a proposal concerned about the main requirements and needs of a contemporary family.
