Resumo: This paper focuses on politics as culture and demonstrates how peripheral geographical location and customary modes of actors sustain and normalize community political relations, orienting them towards practices of familism, nepotism, patronage and clientelism. The research addresses the political interactions of a community, draws on critical discourse analysis, draws on intersectional listening of policy actors, and is supported on phenomenological and ethnomethodological perspectives to produce a comprehensive analysis of the judging strategies and practical conception of relations to and from power. The study demonstrates how the behavior that forms a political culture varies according to the geography of its production, being the result of idiosyncrasies markedly marked by forces whose components are manifested in the form of socioeconomic relations. Contributing to this reality are factors located in the endogenesis of local social structures, responsible for transforming acts of political management into particular relationships of manifestation of personal power, converted into economic power.
