Resumo: Clarice Lispectors image of the body may be centred on different perspectives: the body as the scene of feminine conflicts, repressed by a stereotyped and traditional social role, the body as a vehicle, a point of embedment in existence that helps the human being to understand the anguish, náusea and emptiness of being alive; the body as an element of the circular dialectic between the conscience creating world and the created world, between spirit and nature, using language as mediator o f this relationship. Our aim is to analyse these body images in some o f the authors short stories.
