Resumo: The soccer game is highly random and unpredictable, being essential that the tools the coach, the team and the club have at their disposal, are optimized in order to achieve the sports sucess. This report highlights the training process, in particular its physical dimension, as well as the process of identification and recruitment of young players as soccer preponderant tasks nowadays. The training process is the connection between the players, representing a game model that leads through the way the team plays. It's from this model that the coach intervenes and instils ways to play specific, being necessary a specific physical conditioning. It can be seen as essential identifying players, process that is know as scouting, and has been increasingly valued in youth soccer. It's all about finding the best athlete for a specific position, serving the team's short-term needs and, preferably, respecting the characteristics of the implemented model by the club. The aim of this report has to do with the interest and desire to deepen knowledge on the training, identification and recruitment of young soccer players. To this end, I performed an internship work experience on the Youth Soccer Department of Rio Ave Football Club. The conclusions, which stem from the reflected experience and literature review are: a) a club must have a youth scouting department; b) scouting, in the perspective of players analysis, is revealed as an important strategic complement; c) talent has various forms of expression; d) physical training should never be underestimated.
