Resumo: The recognition of the portrait story as a source of identity, and the personal and social connection we have with it is something that has accompanied us since the beginning of drawing. The relationship we establish with each other and the way we communicate starts mostly through the face and consequently this leads to the systematic representation of it in all forms. We have a trend of see faces and facial expressions everywhere and the development of portraiture and all artistic means that involve it throughout history is due to this same compulsive representation. The present investigation aims to understand how the portrait is inserted in our society and how it changes over time, focusing the main approach on the art of hyperrealism and its support from photography as an auxiliary means for its development. During this research, it was possible to understand and deeply approach the appearance of photography as a transforming element in the artistic world. All forms of art such as painting and drawing suffered the consequences by the emergence of such technology. However, at the same time that photography weakened plastic artists by becoming a kind of substitute for portrait drawing, it later became a strong ally of them. Subsequently, a practical work will be carried out around this research, elaborating several portrait drawings directed to a hyper realistic language, always in the support of photography, with the objective of deconstructing and remaking the components that constitute them, in search for a more plastic and singular record through a personal interpretation and looking away from an absolute photographic reality. In this practical work it will be analyzed and understood how it can be inserted in the hyperrealist aspect and compared with the photographic record, with the objective of promoting the personal and unique record of the artist.
