Resumo: The present work consists in the execution of a project for the rehabilitation of an old house in the Cais de Vila Nova de Gaia. From the analysis and interpretation of the pre-existence, we search to build an answer under the form of a project, wich centers in two essential components: in one hand the preservation and the recovery of the building, on the other hand, its adaption to the new program and the actual confort needs. The practical component emerge at the same time as the analysis and theorical investigation, since is the case study motivates the reflection about the inherent problems in old building's rehabilitation.
