Resumo: | This dissertation addresses the integration of flexibility dimensions on forest biomass supply chain, in order to make them more resilient. The objective is to minimize logistics costs, which include fixed costs related to the use of equipment, work teams and the optimization of transportation network design. In this dissertation, three different flexible planning strategies are mentioned: logistics flexibility, which is characterized by the possibility of opening intermediate terminals in the transportation network design, and these terminals can be opened and closed at different periods of the planning horizon; process flexibility, which portrays the possibility of allocating different teams and equipment to specific locations in certain periods of time; the last level of flexibility is the integration of the last two, allowing the intermediate terminals to be used for storage and / or processing . The problem was modeled as a Multi-Scale mobile Facility Location Problem with Equipment Assignment (MS-mFLP-EA), accompanied by essential aspects of the business in question that emerged from the application of the model to the forest biomass supply chain. In order to obtain good quality solutions and with a reasonable computation time, a solution method was used, which consists of a matheuristic based on a fix-and-optimize (FO) structure. In this dissertation, a comparison is made between BAU (Business as usual) and the different different dimensions of flexibility in supply chain planning, subsequently providing an important set of managerial insights related to the impact of variation of some parameters of the model in a given flexibility strategy. |
