Resumo: At the end of Book 8 of the Odyssey, Alcinous decides to ask, in a definitive manner, the mysterious foreigner he has welcomed in his court about his identity. However, it’s not easy to make him disclose it: during his stay in the Land of the Phaeacians, he has craftily managed to remain anonymous. In this article, we examine thestrategic nature of the request of revelation made by the king of the Phaeacians in Od. 8.548 in order to prevent the foreigner from avoiding the question once again.

En este trabajo, analizo cuán estratégica es la petición de revelación por parte del rey feacio en Od. 8.548 con el fin de impedir que el extranjero evite la pregunta una vez más.À la fin du chant 8 de lʹOdyssée, Alcinoos décide dʹinterroger définitivement lemystérieux étranger quʹil reçoit dans sa cour à propos de son identité. Cependant, il nʹestpas facile de le pousser à se dévoiler : tout au long de son séjour au pays des Phéaciens,lʹétranger est habilement parvenu à rester anonyme. Dans cet article, jʹanalyse la manièredont le roi Phéacien fait preuve de stratégie pour obtenir la révélation dans Od. 8.548,au point que lʹétranger ne puisse plus éviter la question.Ao final do canto 8 da Odisseia, Alcínoo decide questionar de maneira definitiva o estrangeiro misterioso que recebe em sua corte a respeito de sua identidade. Mas não é tarefa fácil fazê‐lo revelar‐se: durante toda sua estadia no País dos Feácios, o estranho esforçou‐se habilmente para permanecer anônimo.
