This dissertation explains the process of elaboration of a project that, starting from the idea of rehabilitating an old Externato (a type of Basic School), extended the field to include relevant points for the urban regeneration of that place. Although it has not developed in a linear way, has undergone several advances and retreats and has alternated several times in scale, the following work is organized gradually in three chapters, for easier understanding, starting from the general territory, passing through the surrounding area and ending at the intervention area. In this sense, the first chapter deals with the Sobrado framework in the county and in the region, its origin/historical evolution and the urban morphology it currently presents. Secondly, a diagnosis is made of the urban problems that affect the area of intervention: by reporting one of the visits to the place and describing its atmosphere based on the sensations that it transmitted and, later, by analyzing it in a rational and pragmatic way through the confrontation of the symptoms it presents with the technical knowledge previously acquired. At last, the proposal for the previously defined area is presented. A project is suggested which involves intervention at four strategic points, not only with the intention of regenerating them, but also with the expectation of producing a positive impact on the neighboring areas, thus shaping the wider territory. As an epilogue of the dissertation, some drawings appear to elucidate the reader of the former Externato and of the project itself, with the purpose of making it more comprehensible.
