Resumo: Within the scope of the school placement, during the second year of a master's degree in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education at the College of Sport at the University of Porto, this document aims to provide a reflection of experiences as a future Physical Education teacher (the author). This teaching experience took place in a basic and secondary school in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores archipelago. Essential learning throughout the school placement is reflected in a process of building a teaching identity, relating different experiences and reflections. This is a task that requires effort and dedication due to the complexity it presents and endowed with numerous positive aspects, because it is in the practicum training that we have the first contact with the reality, which allowed me to build ideas and teaching methods related to the profession, as well as the challenge of relating the theory acquired in higher education with practice in the school context. One of the aspects reiterated throughout the document focuses on the attempt to constantly improve throughout the school year for the benefit of students learning, in terms of classroom stimuli and the attribution of work resources, combined with permanent updating of my professional knowledge. The need to work on the physical fitness component is part of a determinant issue regarding the acquisition of healthy habits, personal development and, consequently, satisfaction with life. This current issue is inserted and discussed in area three of this document. This study aims to raise students' awareness of the benefits that physical activity has at the cognitive, physiological, and emotional level, to combat the problem of today's society related to physical inactivity and verify it correlates to the subjective welfare of the students.
