Resumo: The Modernist movement errupted as a break with the past; it arrived to multiply all meanings of art, to bring to the surface the free imagination of the Artist… In Portugal, Modernism showed itself mainly it two literary magazines: Orpheu, of Fernando Pessoa, Mário de Sá-Carneiro, Almada Negreiros (as bigger names), and Presença, of Miguel Torga, José Régio and João Gaspar Simões.
