Resumo: The first five authors express their gratitude to FCT for partially supporting their research projects through the Ph.D. research grants, SFRH/BD/77105/2011, SFRH/BD/77911/2011, SFRH/BD/51017/2010, PD/BD/105844/2014, and SFRH/BD/37828/2007, respectively. The sixth author was supported by the Smart Window project CENTRO-07-0202-FEDER-03412. The 3Es project was funded by the company Teixeira Duarte on the framework of the Portuguese Program of R&D Projects associated to Large Public Tenders. The authors are thankful to Parque Escolar E.P.E. for the provision of the database on the Portuguese secondary schools. The presented work is framed under the Energy for Sustainability Initiative of the University of Coimbra and LAETA (Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics) Project Pest-OE/EME/LA0022/2013.

Summarily, it is showcased a state of the art of the Indoor Live Lab, developed at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra. The Indoor Live Lab (I2L) is a new platform for research and technology demonstration in Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ). The main motivation for initiating this effort arose from the increasing necessity that researchers, educators and decision makers have for continuously available monitored data on all aspects of building functioning. This paper aims at presenting early developments at the I2L, as well as associated research projects which were at the centre of its creation. Firstly, the objectives of the I2L are presented. Secondly, ongoing research on both residential buildings and services buildings is exposed. After, the several IEQ parameters studies are discussed in particular. This is followed by the I2L description, location and specific features. Finally, a conclusion and future work section are presented.Elsevier2016-10info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://hdl.handle.net/10316/89229http://hdl.handle.net/10316/89229https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scs.2016.03.008eng2210-6707https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S2210670716300397Pereira, Luisa DiasCarrilho, JoãoBrito, Nelson da SilvaGomes, Maria de Fátima Teixeira RochetaMateus, MárioChenari, BehrangSilva, Manuel Carlos Gameiro dainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2021-07-15T09:13:55Zoai:estudogeral.uc.pt:10316/89229Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireopendoar:71602024-03-19T21:09:36.690277Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse
