Hospital environments are prepared to be objective and practical, especially in relation to access and cleanliness. This makes them cold and listless, uncomfortable and welcoming. If for adults, the hospital treatment wards are no longer attractive orcomfortable for children, this environment is sad and this makes it difficult for them to improve or for a pleasant passage during treatment, especially those affected by cancer who spend a long time in hospitals. Focusing on this aspect, the objective of this paper is to discuss and produce a modular piece of furniture specifically designed for pediatric areas in the oncology sector. To achieve this goal, aspects of ergonomics and design methodology were used. This article will present the entire research and development phase, reviewing topics such as modular furniture, hospital environment and ergonomics, from the project to its final construction and testing, respecting the requirements obtained in the review.
