Do Espaço Entre ao Espaço Consciente: Cidade e escola, no projecto de um Centro de Aprendizagem

Resumo: | This is the project of a Learning Centre for the city of Porto. From Space Between to Conscious Space arises from the concern around themes that are considered urgent and essential to bring to public debate, on which architecture may have a fundamental role. Starting from one of these themes, education, and from a context, Porto, it focuses on the architect's responsibility as an actor, 1. in urban space - in the vision of the city's sustainable growth -, 2. in social space - in the creation of spaces for collective interaction - and 3. in individual space - in the drawing of a place for personal development. It is for people that spaces and cities should be designed. It is between knowledge of the past and new concessions for the future that this project emerges. It develops from the counterpoint between the reality and different philosophical, sociological and architectural perspectives, in the search for the sustainable transformation of a place from which we want to know the constants that have always been there and will never be removed: the people, the city and its relationships. Therefore, walking through a multitude of ideas and desires that motivate, starting in 'Approach' and ending in 'Proposal' this dissertation unfolds, which is intended to be nothing more than a closing of a cycle in the form of an experimentation exercise. |
