Não foram as medidas keynesianas que reverteram a crise de 1929, mas a proletarização massiva de largos setores camponeses – com a coletivização forçada na URSS ou o colapso bancário dos pequenos camponeses nos EUA, retratados em As vinhas da ira (STEINBECK, 2016) – e, mais tarde, a destruição da propriedade a uma escala inédita na história da humanidade. Foi o apocalipse da II Guerra Mundial, com os seus, os nossos, 80 milhões de mortos. Foi a maior derrota da humanidade. Neste artigo, olhamos para os principias acontecimentos da II Guerra Mundial e da Resistência a esta, recordando que os campos de concentração nazi eram campos de trabalho forçado. O trabalho forçado, à escala de milhões entre 1939 e 1945, em centenas de campos e subcampos, inseridos na cadeia produtiva de algumas das maiores empresas da indústria alemã, esteve no centro do projeto do Estado nazi. Unemployment in the US and Europe was only reversed in 1938-1941, when the militarization of society began. Unemployed became soldiers at the beginning of the war. It was not the Keynesian measures that reversed the crisis of 1929 but the massive proletarianization of large peasant sectors – with forced collectivization in the USSR or the collapse of the small peasants in the US portrayed in The grapes of wrath (STEINBECK, 2016) – and later the destruction of property on an unprecedented scale in the history of humanity - was the apocalypse of World War II, with its 80 million dead. It was the greatest defeat of mankind. In this article we look at the main events of World War II and the Resistance to it, recalling that the Nazi concentration camps were forced labor camps.
