Resumo: The aim of this text is to think about the present context, value and place of the Catholic state-financed schools. Nowadays, Catholic Schools face three difficulties: the uncertainty over public funding to these schools by the State; the recognition of the parents’ right to choose a school for their children and the affirmation of a specific educative project based on a Christian vision of reality.
