Resumo: Since the mid-nineteenth century, museums are perceived as a public cultural institution. Subsequently, throughout history, the definition of museum has suffered several alterations. In the 21st century, museums are expected to cooperate more with society, throughout the community and with a greater participatory exchange. Due to the dizzying evolution of society and the subsequent individuation of people in society, who are now very self-centered, trying to distance themselves from the external negative aspects provoked by the world economic and social crisis, we will increasingly find the need for people to return to their origins to balance their relationship with society. This process involves a greater investment in education and in the relationship between people and society. In this way the investment and dynamization that can be given to the Learning Departments is essential for the evolution of a balanced and progressive society. However, it is necessary that the schedule and the learning activities are designed and focused on the needs of the human being. To this end, the implementation of the Design methodology is a solution that not only promotes team collaboration but also manages creativity and innovation. Once society has evolved rapidly, cultural and educational institutions must have the tools to accompany social change. Thus we see the museum of the 21st century as a museum that moves through collaboration between people, the community and society. The museum does not last only to portray people, their relationship with the past and the present, but it exists mainly to integrate people's consciousness with themselves and their relationship with society. This way, the development of the dissertation aims to highlight the importance of the role of education through museums and the community, emphasize the need to design innovative solutions, both in internal collaboration within the museums themselves and externally through collaboration with other institutions. It is proposed that the museum of the 21st century evolve through an interactive mutation, in which the public will be more aware and prepared to enjoy cultural and educational institutions contributing to a balanced and harmonious society
