Resumo: | Clinical practice in Palliative Care is indisputably permeated by the excellence of specialized medical education. Concretizing, in this act of awareness of the relevance of medical teaching and, given the priority we give to specialized training in Palliative Care, this systematic review of the literature (RSL) has the general objective: Evaluate compassion in the doctor-patient relationship in medical teaching. Based on this objective, the present investigation following the research guidelines stipulated by PRISMA, conceptualized the present study in a previously defined triangulation and using the terms "compassion", "medical teaching" and "doctor-patient relationship" to empirically answer the PICO question (P - Patient or Problem; I - Intervention; C - Comparison Intervention; O - Result Variable (Outcome) of the present investigation. We considered the following inclusion criteria: articles from peer-reviewed journals, which the language was English or Portuguese, focusing on themes of compassion in the doctor-patient relationship in medical education, dated between the years 2013 to 2023, with the valid sample consisting of higher education students aged 18 years or over and health professionals, considering self-reports in therapeutic interventions in a clinical context. The present RSL allowed us to conclude, through the analysis of the articles observed with investigations already carried out with students in higher education, that this correlation the versed construct is an intrinsic characteristic of health professionals, but can be improved when taught in colleges with interventions in the domain of the doctor-patient relationship, being therefore, an essential requirement in medical education and clinical practice. |
