Resumo: In this paper, we present the process and the results of an ethnographic research carried out in six school centres in Malaga (Spain) about the participation from immigrant students’ families in school life. The centres where this research was carried out are referred to and the methodology used is also explained. The most important conclusions are also presented, not only the ones that refer to the research process, but also the ones that relate to its focus. In the last part of the paper, there is a refl ection about the negotiation of the content of the reports with the participants.
