Nevertheless, the characterization of these actors has received limited attention. For that reason, this work collects editors’ data from six influential energy economics journals extracted from their official websites during two different periods (2017 and 2023) in order to elucidate the evolving landscape of editorial board membership and interconnections among journals based on the social network analysis. At the end, the implications of the editor metrics are explored, emphasizing their significance in showing the intricacies of journal governance. We found that being North American and male are still the most frequent characteristics of a typical editor in energy economics. However, in 2023, the proportion of female editors has slightly increased by five percentage points, though gender equality continues to present an ongoing opportunity for improvement and more Asian, African, and Oceanian countries were taking more presence in the editorial board memberships which is a positive change in the direction in terms of gender equality and country diversification. In addition, between 2017 and 2023 the social network connections unveil a more intricate web, indicating the emergence of more and fresh connections, and heightened complexity due to higher density and centrality measures. This research sheds light dynamically on the social network of knowledge dissemination gatekeepers within the energy economics domain.Damásio, Bruno Miguel PintoSantos, Ana TeresaRUNMendoza, Jonas Martin de Sousa2024-02-23T16:46:20Z2024-01-302024-01-30T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/164040TID:203528034enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2024-03-11T05:50:32Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/164040Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireopendoar:71602024-03-20T04:00:01.037724Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse
