Scientific and technological education: postgraduate courses in action

Resumo: The Masters and Doctoral courses of the Postgraduate in Scientific and Technological Education programme of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, have the objective form masters and doctors engaged to research, construction and socialization of knowledge in the field of Scientific and Technological Education. The postgraduate students participate in formation activities obligatory and optional, such as disciplines, seminars, national and international events. The aim of this work is present the analysis of answers from postgraduates to the questions that inquired them about affinities with the disciplines studied, research carried out influences and suggestions for master’s and doctoral courses. It is therefore a cut of a broader research, which assessed the impact of these courses on the professional practice of its graduates. As a theoretical and methodological reference adopted the referencialization, an investigative process to comprehension and assesment of educational institutions, about which may result diagnoses and evaluations. The methodological procedures of this process were linked to the case study because the investigations’ scope. According to the answers of the graduates, the disciplines were fundamental to the development of their investigations and to further knowledge in Epistemology. In turn, the investigations provide the majority of masters and doctors moments of self-assessment of their professional activities. And finally, the suggestions of the graduates were directed the implementation of formative activities that encourage closer ties between the university and primary schools.

Los estudiantes de postgrado participan en actividades de formación obligatorias, y opcionales, tales como disciplinas, seminarios, eventos nacionales e internacionales. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar el análisis de las respuestas de los egresados a las preguntas que se les hicieron sobre afinidades con las disciplinas cursadas, influencias de la investigación llevada a cabo y sugerencias para los cursos de maestría y doctorado. Por lo tanto es una parte de una investigación más amplia, que evaluó el impacto de estos cursos en el desempeño profesional de los graduados. Como marco teórico adoptamos la referencialización, un proceso de investigación para la comprensión y evaluación de los centros educativos, a partir del cual podrán realizarse diagnósticos y evaluaciones. Los procedimientos metodológicos de este proceso fueron vinculados a los del estudio de casos dada la magnitud de la investigación. De acuerdo con las respuestas de los graduados, las disciplinas jugaron un papel decisivo en el desarrollo de sus investigaciones y para la profundización de los conocimientos en Epistemología. Por su parte, las investigaciones proporcionaron a la mayor parte de los maestros y doctores momentos de autoevaluación de sus actividades profesionales. Y, por último, las sugerencias de los graduados fueron dirigidos para llevar a cabo actividades de formación que fomenten la aproximación entre la universidad y las escuelas primarias.Os cursos de mestrado e doutorado do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Científica e Tecnológica da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Brasil, têm como objetivos formar mestres e doutores comprometidos com a investigação, construção e socialização do conhecimento no âmbito da Educação Científica e Tecnológica. Os pós-graduandos participam de atividades formativas obrigatórias e opcionais, por exemplo, disciplinas, seminários, eventos nacionais e internacionais. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar a análise das respostas dos egressos às questões que os indagaram sobre afinidades com as disciplinas cursadas, influências da investigação realizada e sugestões para os cursos de mestrado e doutorado. É, portanto, um recorte de uma investigação mais ampla, que avaliou o impacto desses cursos na atuação profissional de seus egressos. Como referencial teórico-metodológico adotou-se a referencialização, um processo investigativo destinado à compreensão e avaliação de instituições educacionais, acerca do qual poderão resultar diagnósticos e avaliações. Os procedimentos metodológicos desse processo foram articulados aos do estudo de caso devido à amplitude da investigação. De acordo com as respostas dos egressos, as disciplinas foram fundamentais para a elaboração de suas investigações e para o aprofundamento dos conhecimentos em Epistemologia. Por sua vez, as investigações proporcionaram à maioria dos mestres e doutores momentos de autoavaliação sobre a própria atuação profissional.
