Resumo: The review tries to take into account the annual NECS Conference held at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan in June 2014. Providing an overview of the attendance and the activities organized by the UCSC crew in association with the colleagues of the University of Udine, the text focuses primarily on the three keynote lectures given in the frame of the initiative by Prof. Raymond Bellour, Prof. Jason Mittel and Prof. Janet Wasko.
