Limpopo National Park is a total conservation area, part of the Greater Limpopo Transboundary Conservation Area. The study assesses the consequences of nature conservation policy on the dynamics of populations living in the LNP and on the sustainability of biodiversity. The study makes a qualitative exploratory approach to understand the attitudes, motivations of local communities regarding conservation policies and management model existing in the LNP. Semi-structured interviews were applied to 9 individuals (8 elders, members of the Bingo, Banga and Macavene communities, and a member of a park staff). The results show that the creation of the LNP has caused great shocks and disturbances within the local communities of the park, and has brought profound social, ecological and even political changes. These changes stimulated conflicts of cultural identity, land ownership and feeling of loss and revolt, resulting in an overexploitation of wildlife resources through poaching
