Resumo: Human capital is such a valuable resource for today's organizations that it is of the utmost importance that they are aligned with management, culture and its objectives.This study aims to study, develop and promote a competency-based performance appraisal system for a consulting firm.To accomplish this goal, a literature review on competencies, competency management and performance evaluation is done, which includes the presentation of several performance evaluation tools. This work was oriented in an action-research methodology and based on qualitative analysis tools, such as documentation analysis and informal conversations with company employees.This report ends with the presentation of the main conclusions of the internship, which describes the effectiveness or not of the AD system developed as well as the description of the tasks performed during the internship. The main limitations of the study and system are also presented.
