Resumo: The teaching profession is not only complex but also demanding, so the school placement in a real context of teaching is a key element for the student to learn to be a teacher. The present document exposes the school placement of a pre-service teacher (the author) that took place at a school on the island of São Miguel, in the autonomous region of the Azores, in a practicum group composed of three pre-service teachers and two supervisors (cooperating teacher and faculty teacher). The construction of this report was based on clippings of the remarkable events of the pre-service teacher in the school and is structed in five major chapters. The first chapter mirrors an analysis of the personal, academic and professional route and the option justification of being a physical education teacher. The second one encompasses a reflection reflects about the importance of the school placement, and its members, as the facilitators of the initial education of the teacher. The third one relates to the challenges and transformations throughout the path to be a teacher, as well as an action-research study developed during the school placement, with the aim of knowing the learning and perceptions of the students in relation to the application of student centred teaching models in athletics. The fourth chapter explains the functions performed in the school and its relevance to the building of the pre-service teacher professional identity. The fifth and final chapter embodies the importance of reflection as a facilitator to the constant (re)construction of a teacher as well as the activities carried out to ennoble the educational and professional practice of the pre-service teacher. At the closure of the document the author puts the year in retrospect, trying to explain the transformations and importance that this formative space had for his sedition as a professional of Physical Education and Sports.
