This study aims to understand how the Premier League works and how the impacts it generates are perceived by the Portuguese to happen within Portuguese Leagues. To do so, two research questions –“How do the economic and social impacts of football compare from England to Portugal?” and “Can Portugal adopt a similar model that substantially enhances their TV Broadcast revenues?” –were developed. Following a qualitative study approach, 313 responses were obtained from an online questionnaire. The results show that Portugal is still far behind England but embracing a similar model will bring a positive economic and social impact, enhancing the way we export talent.
