Resumo: Short-term dynamic psychotherapies are briefly summarized, the most controversial and diverging points being stressed. The theoretical foundations of anthropological psychotherapy are summarily dealt with. Short-term psychotherapies carried out on university students within the aegis of the «Gabinete de Apoio Psicológico e Aconselhamento of FCT/UNL» (a counseling service) is described emphasizing: the methodology of intervention, its evaluation, and results obtained. Finally, general conclusions and reflections on short-term psychotherapy are put forth.
