Resumo: In 1922 the Brazil organized the international exhibition in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the 100 years of it the independence. In this Portugal exhibition featured several pavilions as the Portuguese Pavilion of the industries, which was designed by the architects William and Carlos Rebelo de Andrade and Alfredo Asuncion Santos. The prefabricated structure was built with elements transported from Portugal to Brazil. Built in a foursquare revival style inspired by the Johannine Baroque decoration, and main façade covered in glazed tiles by Jorge Colaço. After a few years closed, the Pavilion was disassembled and transported to Portugal. Between 1929 and 1932 was the target of works and rebuilt in Eduardo VII Park by a team supervised by the engineer Days Sobral. In the reconstruction of the building some of the building materials and structures were maintained, as it was the case of the iron structure, as well as the outlines of architecture and decoration. Named Palácio de Exposições e Festas (Palace of Exhibitions and Parties), reopened the 3 October 1932, at the time of the Grande Exposição Industrial Portuguesa (Great Portuguese Industrial Exhibition), organised by the Associação Industrial Portuguesa (Portuguese Industrial Association) and Associação Industrial Portuense (Portuense Industrial Association). In this exhibition the building was considered the Pavilion of Honor.
