Num contexto em que as exigências legais são cada vez maiores e em que se assiste ao desenvolvimento de políticas económicas e outras medidas que impulsionam as boas práticas de SST, a preocupação expressa pelos stakeholders no que respeita a esta matéria é crescente, dando lugar à implementação de sistemas para monitorizar e mitigar os riscos ocupacionais a que os trabalhadores das empresas estão potencialmente expostos. Nesse sentido, a norma ISO 4500:2018 assume-se como um instrumento que permite que uma organização, independentemente do tamanho, tipo ou natureza, melhore o seu desempenho no que respeita à SST. O presente relatório, para além de reportar as atividades realizadas no âmbito do estágio curricular efetuado numa empresa dedicada ao desenvolvimento de sistemas avançados de manutenção preditiva industrial, analisa com base numa análise documental e em entrevistas realizadas com os principais responsáveis, o processo de implementação de um sistema de gestão integrado de SST baseado na norma ISO 45001:2018, identificando, igualmente, quais os benefícios dele decorrentes. Os resultados do estudo confirmam que a liderança, o comprometimento e participação de todos os níveis e funções da empresa são fatores cruciais para o sucesso de um Sistema de Gestão de Saúde e Segurança no Trabalho (SGSST). Por essa razão, a empresa está neste momento a investir consideravelmente na consolidação de uma cultura de segurança, capaz de robustecer os benefícios alcançados com a adoção da norma.Occupational health and safety (OHS) refers to the set of activities that aim to prevent injuries and health problems for workers, as well as to provide safe and healthy workplaces. In a context of increasing legal requirements and the development of economic policies and other measures that promote good OSH practices, the concern expressed by stakeholders regarding this issue is growing, giving rise to the implementation of systems to monitor and mitigate occupational risks to which company workers are potentially exposed. In this sense, the ISO 45001:2018 standard is an instrument that allows an organization, regardless of size, type or nature, to improve its performance with regard to OSH. The present study, in addition to reporting on the activities carried out as part of the curricular internship carried out in a company dedicated to the development of advanced industrial predictive maintenance systems, analyzes, based on a documental analysis and on interviews with the main people responsible, the process of implementation of an integrated OSH management system based on the ISO 45001:2018 standard, also identifying the benefits arising from it. The results of the study confirm that leadership, commitment and participation of all levels and functions of the company are crucial factors for the success of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OSHMS).
