Resumo: | Considering the need to question ideas or representations that tend to hide views about the different ways in which social relations can be produced, the aim of this article is to analyze the contributions of using a Socio-Scientific Issue (SSI) from the perspective of Science, Technology, Society and Environment (STSE) Education and with Freirian grounds, on the proliferation of scorpions, for the development of critical thinking of teachers in training. For this, we evaluated a didactic sequence elaborated by a group of undergraduates in Pedagogy. We consider that the group partially reached a critical thinking on the subject, by building relationships between scorpion proliferation, sanitation, deforestation and ecological imbalance, discussing the SSI in a broader perspective than just from a S&T point of view. We consider that the group partially constructed critical reflections on the subject, since other problematizations could be carried out regarding the role of S&T and the topic at stake. Therefore, we recommend further investigations into the use of SSI in teacher’s training in the early years, based on STSE education and Freirean pedagogy, in order to foster a more solid training towards teachers with skills to implement these educational approaches in their pedagogical practices. |

Therefore, we recommend further investigations into the use of SSI in teacher’s training in the early years, based on STSE education and Freirean pedagogy, in order to foster a more solid training towards teachers with skills to implement these educational approaches in their pedagogical practices.Ante la necesidad de cuestionar ideas o representaciones que tienden a ocultar las diferentes formas en que se pueden producir las relaciones sociales, el objetivo de este artículo es analizar las contribuciones del uso de una Cuestión Sociocientífica (CSC) desde la perspectiva de Ciencia, Tecnología, Sociedad y Medio Ambiente (CTSA) y con fundamentos freirianos, sobre la proliferación de escorpiones, para la formación del pensamiento crítico (PC) de los docentes en formación. Para ello, evaluamos una secuencia didáctica elaborada por un grupo de estudiantes de Pedagogía. Consideramos que el grupo alcanzó parcialmente un PC sobre el tema, al construir relaciones entre la proliferación de escorpiones, el saneamiento, la deforestación y el desequilibrio ecológico, discutiendo el CSC en una perspectiva más amplia que solo desde un punto de vista de CyT. Consideramos que el grupo construyó parcialmente reflexiones críticas sobre el tema, ya que otras problematizaciones podrían ser realizadas sobre el papel de CyT y el tema en cuestión. Por lo tanto, recomendamos mayores investigaciones sobre el uso de CSC en la formación de docentes en los primeros años, con base en la educación CTSA y la pedagogía freireana, a fin de propiciar una formación más sólida hacia docentes capaces de implementar estos enfoques educativos en sus prácticas pedagógicas.Diante da necessidade de se questionar ideias ou representações que tendem a ocultar visões sobre os diferentes modos como relações sociais podem ser produzidas, o objetivo deste artigo é analisar as contribuições do uso de uma Questão Sociocientífica (QSC) na perspectiva da educação Ciência, Tecnologia, Sociedade e Ambiente (CTSA) e com fundamentos freirianos, sobre a proliferação dos escorpiões, para a formação do pensamento crítico (PC) de professores em formação. Para isso, avaliamos uma sequência didática elaborada por um grupo de licenciandos em Pedagogia. Consideramos que o grupo alcançou parcialmente um PC sobre o assunto, ao construir relações entre proliferação de escorpiões, saneamento, desmatamento e desequilíbrio ecológico, discutindo a QSC numa perspectiva mais abrangente do que apenas sob um ponto de vista de C&T. Consideramos que o grupo construiu parcialmente reflexões críticas sobre o assunto, pois outras problematizações poderiam ser realizadas acerca do papel da C&T e sobre o tema em questão.
