Resumo: In recent years, the port region of Rio de Janeiro has received a major revitalization project, called the Porto Maravilha Project, which foresaw the morphological alteration and densification of some sectors of the region. This study aimed to analyze the possible impacts of changes in legislation in the area called Sector C, as well as its correlation with urban morphology. Initially, maps were prepared to analyze two situations, the first based on urban parameters in force until 2009 and the second considering the parameters described in the new legislation for the region, defined by Complementary Law 101/2009. Computer simulations were performed using the urban forms resulting from the evaluated laws. The comparison of the results obtained allowed the analysis of the urban form and the typology of the buildings. From this analysis, new urban parameters were suggested, simulating a hypothetical situation based on the requirements of the LEED-Neighborhood system, respecting the ideal of densification in the region, but adopting a new urban morphology guided by sustainable urbanism criteria. The generated maps were simulated and compared to previous maps. From the results obtained it was possible to observe that the morphological changes developed in the simulated urban projects seem to have influenced the microclimate of the studied region.
