The study aimed to understand the importance of mangaba in the local culture as heritage of Sergipe, fomenting a resource for community based tourism. Specifically, it sought to identify, in traditional knowledge, the possible practices and traditions in the communities in which the movement operates. The research was based on bibliographical, documentary and exploratory research to support the discussion and the experience report on the association of the Estância mangrove collectors, Abaís settlement, and as a resource to describe the analysis of the sample universe and, as a result, the association Between the TBC, the sustainability and the motivation of the ladies who make the Catadores de Mangaba movement, for the preservation of the space of action of the movement.
