Resumo: | In this dissertation, an architectural proposal of a confessional is developed for the church of Santa Maria de Meinedo, in Lousada. The confessional, place where sins are reported and heard, touches the most intimate part of human existence. Despite the new possibilities offered by the Catholic Church for experiencing the sacrament, recent investigations into the liturgical space, and many contemporary architectural responses, seem to forget this place, in favor of the topic, certainly more appealing, of the community and participatory liturgy promulgated by the Council Vatican II. The church of Santa Maria de Meinedo, consecrated in 1262, is an evidence that romanesque buildings are always poles with multiple bonds. However, today, the disconcerting experience of the space, the consequence of the successive interventions that the building has undergone, contributes to the project to refrain from the field of guidelines, so linked to the discourse of the heritage context, and to move around the impressions and the sensations, that strongly affect perception and mood, but which are so difficult to translate into the rigor and eloquence of written speech. |
