Resumo: Maranhão photography, specifically São-Luísense, has been manifested in diverse productions originating from different stylistic aspects and purposes. It is observed that the photographic production carried out in São Luís follows the continuous flow of growth in general level, due to the ease of access, cost reduction and sharing of the digital era. To give a brief overview of local production, it is necessary to observe the events, prizes, independent productions of the photographers and relate them to the exhibition platforms used by the authors. With that, it aims to point out ways to establish an independent photographic production from the recent productions exhibited in unofficial spaces, without institutional ties.

Observa-se que a produção fotográfica realizada em São Luís acompanha o fluxo contínuo de crescimento em nível geral, em decorrência da facilidade de acesso, redução de custo e compartilhamento da era digital. Para traçar um breve panorama da produção local, se faz necessário observar os eventos, prêmios, produções independentes dos fotógrafos e relacioná-los às plataformas de exposições utilizadas pelos autores.
