Resumo: | In the context of the economy of cultural tourism and the tourism of nature, the analysis within this study was focused in the process of value generation and how capital gains are produced, questioning their gestation and the way how they emerge in the value chains of tourist activity, supporting that hermeneutic reflection on three issues: (i) form and essence of tourist resource; (ii) value added and creation of commodities (products); (iii) reproduction of capital invested in tourism. To attempted the concept of their ‘externalities’, which is fundamental to understanding the specific character of the tourism economy, productivity and competitiveness. On this basis, conceptual and methodological, there were drawn up the ‘route’ and ‘tourist circuit’ concepts, based on a scientific methodology inter and multidisciplinary, to organize and guide the visit to tourism destinations, which allows to read, interpret and enjoy their cultural landscapes. Finally, it was tried to establish uniform and consistent conceptual criteria to identify and distinguish the different typological categories of tourism, confronting them with the matrix of Tourism Satellite Account (TSA), in an international context where different paradigms emerge, namely the rising of the cultural tourism and tourism of nature (environmental tourism). |

No âmbito da economia do turismo cultural e de natureza, procurou‑se centrar a análise deste estudo no processo de geração de valor e a produção de mais‑valias, questionando a sua gestação e o modo como emergem nas cadeias de valor da atividade turística, a partir da reflexão hermenêutica sobre três questões: (i) forma e essência do recurso turístico; (ii) valor acrescentado e criação da mercadoria (produto) turístico; (iii) reprodução do capital turístico. Para chegar ao conceito das suas ‘externalidades’, que é fundamental para a compreensão do carácter específico da economia do turismo, da sua produtividade e competitividade. Sobre esta base, concetual e metodológica, foram elaborados os conceitos de ‘rota’ e ‘circuito turístico’, assentes numa metodologia científica inter e pluridisciplinar para organizar eguiar a visita ao destino turístico, que permite ler, interpretar e usufruir as suas paisagens culturais. Finalmente procurou‑se estabelecer critérios concetuais uniformes e coerentes para identificar e distinguir as diferentes categorias tipológicas do turismo, confrontando‑as com a matriz da Conta Satélite do Turismo (CST), num contexto internacional onde emergem diferentes paradigmas, com a ascensão do turismo cultural e de natureza (turismo ambiental).
