Resumo: Among roman storage ware, dolia constitute a class apart. Even though these large containers are easily recognizable through their size, they also present formal variations, usually on their rims, following local or regional trends. Less frequently, these vessels could be used for transport, through the use of suitable ships, and in architecture, as noise silencers in theaters. One of the proponents of this presentation has been, throughout the last few years, studying and reviewing several collections from roman sites in the Lusitania and Northwest Tarraconensis. In the study we propose a dolia chronological-typological classification for the Lusitania, especially for the Douro Valley
