Resumo: | Roma's cartography is perhaps the most complete and former of the Western world that accompanied its history since the founding of the city. The discovery of the iconographic heritage associated with all this long history of a single city, and the direct exploitaon of space in the present for almost two years, as a result of a rst year developed under the ERASMUS mobility programme and a second-year self-study for the purposes of Integrated Thesis, constute this wor's sub(c)ect. In an ambious thorough selecon process of exisng iconography from the beginning of the III century, accompanied by extensive bibliographic research, it gives a ind of archaeology of the space representa on. Is to say, we want to write a text which creates an explanaon of the city image from its representa on mode. Rome's image, in each of the eight phases chosen by obvious impacts in the city formaon, presents itself as a current pro(c)ect, turning the story into space. Using different data, both bibliographic and iconographic, it reconstructs a clear and simple picture of the city in digital form. With this method, a memory strategy, it is proposed an urban recognion of cies with an applicable process to other contexts, which registers the urban evoluon with current means. |
