Urban flooding reflects the urban expansion on the territory and the consequent soil sealing, which promotes the rapid movement of runoff and its concentration in depressed areas. This work deals with the design and interpretation of the structure defined by the surface runoff in urban areas for the village of Arouca and for the city of São João da Madeira. It's analysed the contribution of the urban fabric for the runoff reunion in depressed areas and identified the areas most susceptible to the occurrence of inundations. The adopted methodology is a quick procedure that allows interpreting how urban morphology contributes and exacerbates the occurrence of floods, by the identification of critical areas and the contributory urban area to these locations. The results may support local authorities in identifying critical locations and implementing corrective measures to mitigate the occurrence of floods motivated by the urban surface runoff.
